OK, here it is, and don't tell anybody. :)
The lobby is around twelve stories tall. The building is shaped like a pyramid (actually, more like a prism) and it is hollow inside. The hotel rooms make up the walls of the prism, leaving a wide-open area on the inside of the building.
There is an impressive sculpture of a sphere-like object composed of brass tubes in the middle of a triangular black pool.
Why do I say the "view will move you"? Heh, heh, heh, That's because the restaurant that sits atop this prism is a rotating restaurant! On the rare occasions when I go there, I insist on a table by the window. If you don't, you will still get a very good view, but it's not the same. You can't gawk at the view by sticking your nose to the window, as I like to do. : o)
You get a view of downtown buildings, Market street, the piers, the Bay, the Bay Bridge, the cities of the East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley) and I think, Alcatraz Island.
So, there you have it, those were the big secrets!
