"I am impressed by the Center's attention to making people feel right at home.  The little details such as making sure the tea water is hot, the silverware is set and the food is appetizing are what make the Center a special place in the community."
        -Monica Steigerwald, Volunteer

"I have always been interested in making the family a better unit.  At the Family School, we discussed issues I could relate to, spending a half hour working as parents with our children.  It was exciting.  Other programs I experienced had no hands on time, only lectures.  At the Center, we had the chance to exchange ideas, explore different ways to deal with a child who has a problem.  It was great working with the kids.  Not hard-just fun."
-Tina Carroll, Family School Parent and Teacher

"The Computer-Based Employment Training Program turned an interest of mine into a skill that will lead to a successful career.  The lessons I have learned exceed the material I learned at school and always kept me a few steps ahead of the class.  I received the one-on-one attention that I needed and had an opportunity to work with others.  I was teamed up with a mentor who also taught me many valuable lessons that I cherish to this day.  The program helped me acquire the skills that will point me in a direction that I'm sure I want to travel."
-Calvin Casey, Graduate of the Computer-Based  Employment Training Program

"Working at the Center has given me more compassion towards others and their problems.  Just helping people has helped me.  What made the difference for me in raising my six kids was that I had family to help and the center to turn to.  The Center sent my children to a summer camp, which my children still talk about today.  I was able to come to the Center when I had a problem or needed emergency food or just to chat with the receptionist."
-Doris Turner, Nutritionist and Receptionist at the Center

"The Center's Senior Program gives me something to look forward to every week.  For some of our members, the Center's Senior Program is their only outlet.  We go on wonderful trips and the staff is always so helpful.  If we did not have the Center, many of us would not go out of the house.  It is a blessing to us all."
-Frances Tyler, President of the Senior Club

"The Art Center has been a rich experience for me.  As a senior citizen who loves art, it keeps me going.  I just have to get out and do something - to keep my mind off my aches and pains.  My advice to others is 'get creative'.  My children and grandchildren are proud of what I can do."
    -Ruth A. Barkley, Artist
