Our little community
Over time, as we have hung out together over three years + we have
become like a group of wonderful old friends. Well, ok, like a family:
sometimes we love each other, sometimes we fight. Well, ok, like a dysfunctional
family. Well, ok, allright, like guests on the Ricky Lake show. :)

Lark is not on the list any more, and to those who
missed out on seeing her piercingly intelligent yet humane and endearing
writings, I say you truly missed out on the literary wonder that was the
spirit of Old Liberty. I say this with a total lack of bias, :) as her
former boyfriend of a year and a half, now her loyal friend.
We met on the list, which has always made MSCL
doubly meaningful for me. If I still love Liberty for one reason, it is
because it brought this wonderful woman and me together for a very special
time.

"warrior princess"). Has met Mr. Fruity (Dean Jones) at a mall. Her mom
may not understand how important MSCL is to Cory, but at least Mrs. Dickason

Derrick is simply a great listie! I have to say,
it takes a lot of time and effort to make the Unofficial MSCL Soundtrack
copies to every MSCL fans around the world. This wonderful listie deserves
an acknowledgement for his hard work. And not to mention (other listies
will agree) very friendly, kind, sometimes annoying but funny, and yes,
I learned MSCL mailing list through him. So Derrick, this is for you, from

Derrick is truly absolutly positively yousolisisly
flap-bappin amazing.. He is beyond words in fact... But we will still write
some stuff just to be nice.. No, but like with a lot of people if you are

something.. But with derrick you just can't explain him.. And at the same
time he just like attracts people, for like no apparent reason.. Thats

Derrick is the Man. He vibrates me, doesn't mind when
I break his spine, and reminds me how cute I am just when I need reminding.
If I ever get out to Canada we will have a wild time, I will make his sing
for me even though I'm sure he'll resist. But until then, I shall have
to content myself to IRC chatting with him. (Pass the Superglue!)

Steve Joyner

Another prominent MSCL person. Steve spearheaded the grass-roots public
campaign to save MSCL by forming an organization named "Operation Life
Support". Steve published ads in major newspapers calling for the continuation
of MSCL, became a visible public figure, was interviewed by MTV and met
Devon Gummersall. Steve financed the ads by selling complete sets of MCSL's
19 episodes in VCR format. He is also working towards publishing a book
about MSCL, "Fighting For Life", aka FFL. There is a picture of Steve in
the story about the first San Francisco Get-Together.

Appreciation for Alan:

First of all, Alan helps me with my math homework sometimes,
and that's just phat. I might never have understood parabolas without his
explanation in IRC one day. But even more importantly, he has helped me
immensely in sorting out my feelings in terms of a certain girl who shall
remain nameless. :) It's so wonderful to have someone to talk to, and Alan
is a very good person indeed to fulfill that job. I'm immensely grateful
to him. Someday I'm going to run down to Michigan and grab Ben and we'll
sit in on his classes. (What, a high schooler and a middle schooler conspicuous?
Nah.) We can sit in the back and heckle him. Or something. But even if
we don't I'll always be thankful that Alan has been so great to me.

because she won't kill spiders (yaay!). When she's about to kill a spider

And to everyone else that has contributed to the list,
whether it be setting up additional servers to make sure that everyone
gets the mail, to just tolerating my idiosyncracys [sorry about those AA
things erin, but I know the other ones are right]. Everyone on this list
that has ever posted anything has my thanks. Sometimes I might not agree
with you, and lots of times I am a lone wolf in terms of my opinions, especially
of late, but overall, this list is the most caring, insightful, and peculiar
(I mean that in a good way!) group of people I've met. I'm not gonna list
names, because every time someone does that and I'm not on there I feel
bad, but you out there -- you know who you are. For helping me edit essays,
reading my poetry (bad though it is), giving me advice on all things from
relationships to food, and generally just being here to talk to, I salute
you.
You all deserve a round of applause.

Alfredo is a pretty cool guy, and thanks to him, I have
my new name- Yoya... that's another story... I don't really know him like
everyone else does, cuz I haven't been on the list really long. I hope
I get to know him better!

Thank you Alfredo for (1) being one of the first to befriend
me when I first subbed and didn't know anyone. (2) for putting your time
and energy into this list, especially for the digidesign reflector that
we needed when netcom was funky. (3) For being candid about your feelings
to the list (even when those feelings have been strained). I say this even
though stating some of those feelings have contributed to hurtful disputes
on and off the list. I despise avoidable conflict, but candor is to be
valued nonetheless.
