Jordan's Alright

Now that I have seen the whole series, some scenes that I didn't know about with Jordan in them really touched me. When he offers Ricky that ride, when he lights that candle. When I found out that he had been beat up by his father. That breakup scene where he tenderly says, "Don't take your turns too wide". I had seen, but not paid enough attention, to the scene where he says that Mr. Racine was the best teacher he'd ever had.

So, Jordan didn't turn out to be the person I had thought him to be.

Would Angela be better off with him than with Brian? I'm not sure, my view of Brian hasn't changed due to the new episodes, but this Jordan I know is too new for me to "know" him well enough to make a comparison.

I'm not sure that I am falling into the pro-Jordan camp, or out of the pro-Brian camp. I think Angela would have something to learn from her being girlfriends with either of them.

I can see that Jordan is concerned for others, like when he warns Ricky to take off because his rowdy friends are nearby. There is hope for him, he says that the activities his friends find so ever-fascinating are "getting old".

As I wrote originally, I suspected that it didn't seem like MSCL, it seemed beneath Winnie Holzman to create worthless and two-dimensional characters and this was borne out by viewing the shows I hadn't seen.

It took a while - it's hard to get over thinking someone is going to hurt a sweet girl like Angela. But Jordan won't.

He turned out to be just as worthwhile as Angela, Rayanne, Ricky and Graham (et al), and I'm glad.
